Lekan is an astute and well-experienced insurance and reinsurance broker. He has over 20 years of experience in oil and gas, aviation, and general risk management. He graduated from the prestigious University of Lagos with a BSc (Hons) in Insurance. He holds an MBA from London Graduate School and Honorary Doctorate from Commonwealth University. He has worked on numerous oil and aviation insurance accounts, making him one of the few experts in those particular fields in the insurance brokerage subsector. He has worked out a partnership with the London Lloyds insurance market and some notable Insurance Brokers in the UK, USA, and South Africa. Prior to joining POST Assurance, Lekan worked at Elmac Assurance Ltd, Gold Link Insurance Plc, and First Guaranty Risk Solutions, where he was Head of Business Development and was instrumental in turning around the fortune of the company. He later joined Capstone Insurance Brokers as Managing Director/CEO, helping to turn the company into a profit-making organization for the period he was at the helm.
Lekan left Capstone Insurance Brokers in the year 2012 to join forces with the new management at POST Assurance Brokers as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Lekan is a member of various professional bodies such as Chartered Insurance Institute London, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Institute of Directors Nigeria, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Nigerian-America Chamber of Commerce. Lekan’s experience in insurance placement in local and international markets has built a stronghold for POST Assurance Brokers and has consistently placed the company as one of the fastest-growing businesses in Nigeria.
